These cues were clipped or split. The full original text is kept in every piece, so remove any words you can no longer hear in the edited video. Timing alone cannot decide which words remain.
A few things to know
How to get the right result
- Choose the SRT for the original, unedited video.
- Enter exactly the clips kept in your edit, using original-video seconds. Or import a headerless LosslessCut CSV.
- Retime, check flagged captions against your edited video, and download the SRT.
Your video must be those clips joined in order, with no speed changes, transitions, repeats, or extra footage. Check sync in your player: keyframe-based edits may differ from the times you entered.
What happens at a cut?
A caption is intersected with each kept clip, clipped to that clip, then shifted to the joined timeline. Cues outside all kept clips are removed. Numbering starts over at 1.
Text and line breaks are preserved, including Unicode and SRT text tags. If a cue spans two kept clips, its full text appears in both pieces and is flagged. This tool does not listen to audio, transcribe speech, or align words.
Example: keeping 10–20 and 30–40 changes a 12–14 cue to 2–4, and a 32–34 cue to 12–14.
Formats, limits & privacy
SRT needs numeric cue indexes and HH:MM:SS,mmm timestamps. Timing-line positioning metadata, VTT and ASS are unsupported. Input must be UTF-8.
Each input is limited to 2 MiB; up to 10,000 source cues and 200 kept clips. Output is bounded at 20,000 cues and an 8 MiB safety budget. Decimal range times are rounded to the nearest millisecond; all ranges must still have positive duration after rounding.
LosslessCut CSV uses start, end, label, with no header. A blank start means 0. Labels can be quoted. Blank ends (markers), reordered clips, overlaps and negative times are rejected.
The retiming tool reads subtitle and range text only in this tab’s memory. It does not upload input contents, put them in a URL, or persist them in browser storage. Downloads are generated locally. Clear or reload removes the working copy. Downloaded files remain on your device.
